From May to September a packed agenda organized by Costa Smeralda animates Sardinia Yacht Club

Framed by dreamy strips of sand and azure waters, the exclusive Porto Cervo regattas are the pride of Costa Smeralda. The spectacle of majestic boats steered by the best international yachtsmen racing for the win is a must for yachties and the tourists enjoying a yacht cruise of Northern Sardinia. These events include Loro Piana SuperYacht Regatta and Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup.

Loro Piana SuperYacht Regatta

Loro Piana SuperYacht Regatta (30 May – 3 June) is one of the flagship events of the area, opening the summer season of 2017. Eighteen superyachts and 12 Wally class boats registered for the 2016 edition of the regatta, which also featured an intense agenda of social events. On opening night, following a Welcome Cocktail, the guests attended a dinner prepared by Niko Romito to a piano soundtrack by Dimitri Naïditch and then hit the glamour party taking place at the nearby Phi Beach.

Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup

Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup is one of the most exclusive regattas to take place in the waters off Porto Cervo. This season mixes design and nautical engineering, offering fans, shipowners, and yacht teams the chance to enjoy an exciting and prestigious race featuring imposing fleets of sailing ships. Porto Cervo’s waters are a unique marine destination boasting a constant breeze that fits perfectly with the dreamy landscape and demanding paths well known to international yachtmen, such as the rocky channel to the north of the Maddalena archipelago.

2017 is an important year for Porto Cervo’s regatta season

Costa Smeralda yacht club in Porto Cervo (YCCS) is sponsored by prestigious international brands the likes of Rolex, Audi, and UBS, as well as by many other partners that contribute to the success of countless social and sports events. The seasonal program features several prestigious events including the Porto Cervo regattas, interclub events, and “one-design” fleets.

2017 is an important year for Costa Smeralda Yacht Club that celebrates 50 years of activity. A transatlantic regatta with Hamburg’s Norddeutscher Regatta Verein (celebrating its 150th anniversary) will mark this important occasion.
