Yacht for charter
LE PONANT is a yacht unlike anything else in the fleet, a three-masted sailing ship that has just emerged from a complete rebuild, every interior and exterior deck made new. The layout was reimagined around sixteen large guest suites, so that the romance of a classic sail carries none of the compromise you might expect. She sails beautifully, and her captain and crew take every chance to do exactly that: with minimal running rigging and giant hydraulic rams trimming the sails, the expansive decks are left free, and she moves almost silently under canvas while you sit back and watch the coast slide by.
A crew of 14 makes the experience what it is. The galley is led by a French executive chef with a team of five, and the cooking is a genuine part of the voyage rather than an accompaniment to it. Beyond the service crew there is an expedition leader and naturalist to guide guests, adults and children alike, toward the moments that stay with you, along with a beautician and a sports coach aboard.

Four expedition Zodiacs, kayaks, sea scooters, paddleboards, a jellyfish pool and full SCUBA gear open up the wild coastlines she is built to reach, from the Kimberley in northern Australia to Indonesia and Papua, places few ever see in this kind of comfort. The charter rate includes everything: all food, drinks, fuel, port and agency fees, and taxes.
There is even a thread of family in her story, a captain who grew up aboard, his father the first to command her. Unplug for a week or two in some of the last true wilderness on earth. There is nothing else quite like it.
