Sailing around the Balearics islands, Ibiza’s most beautiful beaches

Sleepless nights and fun at exclusive clubs are not all there is to a trip on a luxury charter around the Balearic Islands. Make a regenerating stop at Menorca’s breathtaking bays, dine at The Geko Beach Club in Formentera, renowned for its spectacular vista of the Mediterranean, and then set sail to Ibiza’s most beautiful beaches.

Indeed, the island, that owes its fame to its impressive offer of clubs and bars, a symbol of the international nightlife and home to exclusive parties, boasts unexpectedly charming destinations, beautiful strips of sand, and countless coves awaiting to be discovered.

Ibiza’s most beautiful beaches: Cala Benirras

Enjoy the sunset to the sound of tribal drumming and the hippie ritual of “Moon Party” on Cala Benirras. The heart of hippie counterculture in the 1960s, this magical destination continues to host the “Drumming for Peace” experience on Sundays, drawing large crowds of tourists.

Cala Benirras preserves an unspoiled atmosphere, having managed to keep off of the construction boom that has affect other areas of the island in later years. Transparent waters and shallow sand lap the 300-meter strip of sand, a popular anchoring spot for yachties that flock here in search of a quiet place off the beaten track.

Ibiza’s most beautiful beaches: Sa Caleta

The archeological site of Sa Caleta is home to the ruins of a Phoenician settlement believed to have been the place of origin of Ibiza’s first community.

Found on the southern coast, Sa Caleta is a beloved destination of the locals. The spectacular setting, one of Ibiza’s most beautiful and less crowded ones, nestles between red cliffs. The rocks guard its sides, lending a cozy and welcoming atmosphere to the beach and protecting it from the breeze.

Ibiza’s most beautiful beaches: Las Salinas

Las Salinas is yet another charming beach to visit on your charter in Ibiza. Very popular with tourists, the site boasts a view of the opposite islands of Formentera and Es Freus. The beach owes its name to the nearby Nature Reserve of Ses Salines where the high concentration of salt in the seawater makes it especially easy to stay afloat.

Ibiza’s most beautiful beaches: Cala Bassa

Next stop: Cala Bassa, a strip of sand located on the west coast is an exotic setting. The sea’s intense turquoise reflects the lush green of the Mediterranean scrub as a light breeze carries the fragrance of cluster pines.  The soft, golden sand lends a relaxing atmosphere to the setting. Visit Cala Bassa off high season, in May, June, or September, to make the most of its breathtaking natural setting.

Ibiza’s most beautiful beaches: Cala Llonga

The lovely blue-flag beach of Cala Llonga is located in a horseshoe-shaped cove. Mediterranean scrub covers the surrounding hills, while the 180-meter long strip of sand, washed by shallow and crystal-clear waters, is a great diving and snorkeling spot.

Ibiza’s most beautiful beaches: Cala Codolar

The slightly rough look of Cala Codolar, one of Saint Josep’s beaches, recalls Formentera’s coves. The beach with a pebbly and rocky seabed rests inside an inlet that protects it from the currents and wind. A large pine grove that reaches almost to the sea surrounds it. This is one of the less frequented spots on the island.
