Nestled beneath the majestic Mount Vesuvius, a new generation of marina is changing the face of superyacht facilities. Marina di Stabia is situated in an enviable location, in the heart of Italy’s most desirable high-end tourist area close to Sorrento, Amalfi and Capri, in one of the most sheltered and secure ports on the Mediterranean Sea – a perfect vantage point for a Mediterranean yacht charter. Blending innovative new facilities with elegant surroundings and exceptional service, Marina di Stabia raises the bar for European marinas.
About the Marina
The remarkable marina contains 900 berths, the longest of which can take yachts in excess of 100m. Marina di Stabia was first opened on the waterside of Castellammare di Stabia by MDL Marinas Group in 2007 and the landside was completed in 2011. Marina di Stabia is fully authorised and equipped for onboard living, so there is no limitation on the number of nights guests can stay in any month. Berthing and security services are available 24 hours a day making your stay safe and convenient.
The Marina’s Facilities
However, the real draw of this next generation marina are the facilities. Guests can enjoy an exclusive yacht club, 26-metre swimming pool, sports facilities, BBQ areas, a waterfront gym and stylish restaurants and bars, all attended by experienced, friendly MDL staff. The yacht club is a stunning modern building designed by architect Massimiliano Fuksas. It has an unparalleled view Mount Vesuvius and Capri, which may make you want to linger longer. Cool drinks on a warm terrace can be followed up by an evening meal in the Marina di Sabia’s Michelin restaurant.
The Boat Yard
The marina also houses a state-of-the-art fully equipped 60,000 sq.m boatyard, which is set in a second basin with independent access to the sea. The technical marina and fueling/bunkering dock is the perfect place to provide first-class maintenance to your boat. Only the most highly qualified carpenters and mechanics are employed to combine traditional boat skills with cutting-edge techniques to keep your yacht it perfect condition.
The Marina’s future
Marina di Stabia is expanding into the surrounding waterfront over the next five years. The development project has been fully approved and will include residential areas, hotels, restaurants, an auditorium, high-level retail outlets and a shopping mall. Until then, the marina’s location on the Bay of Sorrento makes it ideally placed to explore the surrounding region. The town of Sorrento is just 6nm away and popular destinations like Capri and Positano are very close. A free shuttle bus runs from the marina to Castellammare di Stabia town centre and Naples Airport is only a 30km drive away.
