Most sane men who have watched a Bond movie have at some stage of their lives fantasised over what it would be like to be him. Those fast cars, sharp suits, looking dapper on superyachts – not to mention the outrageous flirting with beautiful women; who could say no to such a life?

In fact, you can sample the lifestyle of this dapper international spy on your next luxury yacht charter.  Here are five James Bond destinations that you can visit on your charter vessel for the ultimate thrill.

Costa Smeralda, Sardinia (The Spy Who Loved Me)

Not to be mistaken with Austin Powers’ cheeky version; The Spy Who Loved Me cast had the pleasure of recording many scenes on the elegant resort of Cala di Volpe in Sardinia. Cala di Volpe boast an excellent marina, where you can berth your yacht for a peaceful night’s anchorage during your Sardinia yacht charter. This place simply oozes the fashion class of Bond’s friends and enemies and is a hotspot for lovers of luxury from all over the world.

At the heart of this location is Porto Cervo, which is one of the most exclusive marinas in the Mediterranean.  Keep in mind that the harbour operates on a first come first serve basis.

Phang Nga Bay, Thailand (The Man With The Golden Gun)

On his way to be devilishly handsome in Scaramanga’s secret Lair, Bond foolishly left his plane on the beach, which was subsequently destroyed by Scaramanga.
There are certainly worse places to be left stranded than ‘The Land Of Smiles’ and, in particular, this stunning Thai island. After you visit the island on your yacht, we recommend that you anchor off a beautiful island of Koh Roi.

Istanbul, Turkey (Skyfall)

Istanbul wins major bragging points as it hosted Mr Bond in; From Russia With Love, The World Is Not Enough and recently he went back for a visit in Skyfall.

You are simply spoiled for choice as a superyacht fan on the way (or leaving) Istanbul, with most yacht bases perfect for shopping and entertainment. Turkish seafood is also one of the best-kept secrets in Europe!

Monaco (Goldeneye)

We’re not sure if there’s a place more fitting to be Bond for a period of time than Monaco. Not only does the place boast some of the richest and classiest names from around the world, but also it of course paid homage to James Bond in the movies; Never Say Never Again, Casino Royale and Goldeneye.

You can berth at one of the most prestigious ports in the South of France, Port Hercule, which boasts 30 berths for yachts of 25 to 30m, and 20 berths for yachts 30m over. Suit up and strut down to the casinos where Bond once schmoozed (shaken not stirred at the bar remember) and try your hand at the blackjack table. May the odds be in your favour.

Venice, Italy (Casino Royale)

You can enjoy Venetial lifestyle through the eyes of James Bond, who is no stranger to the winding waterways of Venice and has been seen jumping sinking buildings and blowing boats up. In Casino Royale Bond moors his yacht at Hotel Cipriani’s private marina.

However, we recommend that you moor your yacht in Venice Yacht Pier as it is the only place right in the heart of the city where large vessels can berth.

Choose at least one of these Bond destinations above and your holidays will never be the same after taking your vacation to the next level.
