As the Mediterranean yacht charter season comes to an end, the yachting industry has one final event to close it with a splash. The Monaco Yacht Show is one of the most prestigious annual trade shows in the yachting calendar. Silver Star Yachting is looking forward to Europe’s most celebrated yacht show, which takes place at Port Hercule on 28th September to 1st October. MYS is the official launch platform for 40 of the year’s most eagerly anticipated new yachts and will be set against the iconic backdrop of the Principality of Monaco.

The 26th edition of the MYS promises to be just as exclusive and inspiring as ever with an outstanding fleet of 115 custom-made superyachts from 25 to 100 metres long. It is the ultimate luxury rendezvous for the international elite clientele and the place to see megayachts up close. The UAE-based shipbuilder Gulf Craft will debut its highly-anticipated new 47m Majesty 155 motor yacht, the largest of its range. The combined length of all the yachts on display measure over 5,000m in total from stem to stern; a greater distance than Monaco’s famous Grand Prix circuit and further than an F1 car can travel in 60 seconds

The largest shipyards, top designers, major brokers and high-end yachting suppliers will gather to network and see the world’s best yachts to buy or charter. This year, 580 exhibitors and partners will catch up on industry news and make new contacts at the event’s conferences and cocktail parties. There are around 80 social events, parties and gala dinners organised in Monte Carlo’s most luxurious hotels and on-board the stunning yachts.

Monaco is one of Europe’s most glamorous yachting hubs, so it’s an appropriate gathering place for such an upmarket event. The historic city-state is the ideal stopping point for megayachts before they head off to the tropical waters of the Caribbean for winter. Since it takes place over a long weekend, there will be plenty of chances for visitors to explore the Principality’s legendary sights and restaurants. The Monaco Yacht Show also has the honour of receiving the recognition and support of Prince Albert II of Monaco.

Each year, the MYS attracts an average of 34,000 people representing over 40 nationalities (both exhibitors & visitors). The peripheral luxury sector also attends; so private jets, helicopters, supercars and luxury goods complete the atmosphere of prestige and class. In fact, the Monaco Yacht Show has introduced a brand new exhibition space in 2016 named ‘Car Deck’ dedicated solely to luxury automobiles. A range of ultra-exclusive cars will be available for test-drives and purchasing during the four-day show. It looks like this year’s yacht show is shaping up to be another resounding success.
