Positano, with its pastel-hued houses clinging to the cliffside, is indisputably the best-known attraction of the Amalfi Coast, thanks to its dynamic summer nightlife and premium restaurants and ateliers. It is one of the most beloved and unforgettable destinations of a luxury charter cruise in the Gulf of Naples.

Positano’s narrow streets are lined with dreamy hotels, like Le Sirenuse and San Pietro Hotel, two of most refined resorts in the Costiera – real gems offering the famous Neapolitan hospitality during a holiday on a luxury charter in the Amalfi Coast.

The best beaches to hit on a private cruise in Positano

Tiny and wild Laurito and Arienzo, also known as the “three hundred steps beach” after the stairs going down to it, are worth visiting for their beauty. Also recommended is Marina Grande,  home to the renowned “Music on the Rocks” club, the iconic hotspot of the local high life. Fornillo, a pebbly beach of crystal-clear waters, is the best choice for those looking for a spot to chill in a glorious natural setting.

Positano on a charter: strolling and hiking

When in Positano one simply must go for a stroll down the Sentiero degli Innamorati, or Walk of the Lovers, a strip of land stretching between the cliffside and the sea and linking the town’s beaches that offers unforgettable views.

Trekking enthusiasts appreciate, instead, Sentiero degli Dei, or The Path of the Gods, fit also for less experienced hikers that connects Nocelle (a tiny village in the municipality of Positano) to Agerola. This trail that twists and turns across the Mediterranean vegetation features arresting panoramic spots looking out to a view that includes the Faraglioni of Capri, Punta Penna, the islet of Li Galli and the Lattari Mountains.

Positano lacks an actual marina, featuring only a dock that is used by the motorboats operating along the Amalfi Coast. Yachts can drop anchor at the buoy field opposite the town, or at the Amalfi marina.
