The waters of Sardinia are a breathtaking transparent and iridescent color and those surrounding Porto Rotondo are no different: crystal-clear and just perfect. Sailing on a luxury yacht charter to this ancestral and wild island, the fusion of land and sea creates a wonderful postcard of nature.
SOME LUXURY YACHTS FOR CHARTER IN THIS AREA
Born from the passion for Sardinia of two young Venetians, the brothers Donà della Rosa, Porto Rotondo comes to life in the early Sixties, when the first hotels, restaurants and tourist attractions appear in rapid succession. Every two years, the waters between Porto Rotondo and Porto Cervo host the Veteran Big Boat Rally, a regatta of classic sailing yachts. Boutiques, luxury shops, and renowned antique stores attract crowds of visitors to the streets. An enjoyable alternative to natural and social attractions is the summer season of cultural events at the amphitheater.
However, Porto Rotondo’s top attractions are the beaches. On a yacht for rent you can avoid the crowd and head to secluded inlets and small beaches frequented only by few and selected crews. Some of these spots hide behind rocks and outcrops and can be hard to reach, but the effort is worthwhile. The destination is a little piece of heaven.
A little further off the coast are a number of islands that can be reached only by private boat. Many of them boast inviting grottos and inlets. The best, but also most crowded, beaches are Volpe and Nuraghe, with the Ira beach named after the actress Ira Fürstenberg who owned a villa in the vicinity. End a day spent in the heart of nature with a regenerating walk, and stop at one of the many trendy clubs and restaurants that await tourists with a special selection of international cuisine and drinks.
Porto Rotondo is an exclusive destination where, after mooring your boat in the fully-equipped harbor, yachters find elegance and the sophisticated life of the high society.
