Tuscany: a unique itinerary from Portofino to the Maremma

You will love the mix of fun and nature on a Tuscany yacht charter. Go on a tour of Maremma and Versilia, taking off from the exclusive shopping hub of Portofino, passing by the islands of Elba and Capraia to discover the medieval beauty of their villages.

1day

Portofino, Cinque Terre
The first stop of your Tuscany yacht charter can be the ancient fishing village of Portofino, charming and picturesque. Its crystal waters are home to numerous dolphins and are famous for the beautiful underwater statue of ‘Christ of the Abyss’, placed underwater in 1954 to protect fishermen and scuba divers. You can also visit the fishing village of Camogli and the port of Santa Margherita Ligure, where you can choose among many fine dining restaurants for an excellent gourmet experience.

2day

Portovenere
Continue your Portofino yacht charter by heading to the wonderful “Cinque Terre”, an amazing area recommended to all the yacht charterers visiting Liguria. The area includes five picturesque villages and surrounding hills that form the “Cinque Terre National Park,” designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. In the evening you can dock in the nearby village of Portovenere. The next day you can leave for Tuscany.

3day

Elba
Next cruise to the island of Elba, which is green and mountainous and hardly touched by time. Elba has many coves and attractive harbors to explore. The island is also famous for being the residence of Napoleon in 1814, where he was in exile – you could visit Villa dei Mulini, where he stayed during his time on Elba The coast offers many small creeks with amazing beaches. On the island, yacht charters may engage themselves in cultural activities and practice many sports, such as hiking, swimming, diving and cycling.

4day

Capraia
Make sure you visit the entire Tuscan Archipelago during your Tuscany yacht charter: Capraia has safe anchorages and beautiful beaches, and is now a national park. The nearby island of Giglio is home to a beautiful village with a fascinating castle to be explored.

5day

Porto Ercole or Porto Santo Stefano
Your Tuscany yacht hire service can end here. You can spend the final day of the yacht charter visiting Porto Santo Stefano and Porto Ercole: two beautiful cities that were occupied by the Spaniards in the sixteenth century. They have stunning fortifications on the surrounding hills. They also offer many opportunities for shopping in their lively markets.
