The Concours d’Elegance at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2017
While gusty conditions threatened to dampen the spirits of seafaring enthusiasts at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2017, the event was ultimately a huge success. A selection of spectacular attractions drew visitors – both yachting professionals and otherwise – from across the world, but no attraction was more popular than the famous Concours d’Elegance – the event’s most anticipated attraction. Although heavy winds delayed the event from Thursday to Friday, spectators were rewarded for their patience, with a delightful floatilla of classic and modern yachts.
Much to the delight and surprise of onlookers, the main attractions at the Cannes Yachting festival 2017 were not only in the water – despite the event’s status as Europe’s largest in-water boat show. The RAF Red Arrows put on an attention-grabbing performance in the sky, painting the Tricolore in red, white and blue.
