The Gulfs of Naples and Gaeta harbor a wonderful world where rocks, cliffs, and sun-kissed islands alternate with hidden coves and breathtaking vistas. The Phlegraean and Pontine islands are a heavenly destination to experience, both on and off board. A hospitable and warm location, Ischia is renown for its thermal waters that guarantee a total mind-and-body relax. Opposite the Sorrentine Peninsula, close to its fellow islands, is Capri with its legendary Blue Grotto and iconic Faraglioni. The Pontine Islands, including the renowned Ponza and Ventotene, are a perfect alternative to the usual tourist spots, a hideaway to go scuba diving away from the fuss of busier locations.
SOME LUXURY YACHTS FOR CHARTER IN THIS AREA
Start in Naples, than Capri
The place of departure of your Capri yacht charter is Mergellina port in Naples. Before leaving for the cruise, we recommend that you visit the city. You can arrange tours of the historic area, to discover the streets, the legends and Neapolitan gastronomy. Or you can book a tour to Posillipo, Vomero and Chiaia, elegant residential areas famous for shopping. After a day of sightseeing, you can relax by embarking on your yacht charter to Capri – the famous luxury island. Here you can dine in the harbor below the Faraglioni and then go ashore, hop on the funicular and reach the famous “Piazzetta” to sit at “Bar Tiberio” and continue the evening in one of the local attractions.
Start the second day of your Capri yacht charter by swimming in azure waters and enjoying the picturesque sight of the Faraglioni. You can also arrange a visit to the famous Blue Grotto. Then you can leave for Ischia aboard your charter yacht and spend the day at Maronti beach. You can spend the evening at the ancient fishing village of Sant’Angelo, which is the real jewel of the Island, famous for its “piazzetta” (small square), its streets and its special charm. You can anchor your yacht or moor it in the harbor for the night.
The third day of your yacht hire can be dedicated to the island of Ischia, with an excursion to Mount Epomeo, where you can have lunch at one of the celebrated local restaurants. You can spend the evening in the charming town of Forio and moor your luxury charter yacht in the port of Ischia.
Ischia & Thermal Spas
You cannot leave the island of Ischia without going for a swim in its magic and healing thermal waters. That’s why we advise that you spend the fourth day of your yacht charter in Capri anchoring around Ischia and visiting one of its beautiful spa parks. Here thermal waters, sea and nature create a perfect combination for relaxation.
Ventotene and Santo Stefano
Only 20 nm from Ischia, navigating your charter yacht to the west, is the island of Ventotene. Simple and quiet, Ventotene is an island with crystal clear waters and beautiful archaeological ruins dating back to the Roman period. A natural reserve and a beautiful sea, perfect for diving and snorkeling, surround the island. Just half a mile away is the islet of Santo Stefano, completely uninhabited, where you can organize an excursion to the ancient Bourbon prison. After a day on the black beach you can spend the evening having a drink in the “piazzetta” and dining in one of the typical seafood
restaurants on the island. In Ventotene you can anchor your luxury hire yacht or moor it in the harbor again.
After Ventotene, your next destination aboard your charter sailing or motor yacht is the island of Ponza, about 24 nm away. Ponza is the largest of the Pontine Islands and the most entertaining. With its typical Mediterranean architecture, shops, trendy restaurants and dreamy bays with crystal clear waters, the island annually attracts flocks of young people. At sunset the “Frontone” beach comes to life with many cocktail parties. At this time you will find many yachts anchored in front of the bay.
Leave in the morning from Ponza with your luxury yacht and cruise to Palmarola, just 5 nm away: a true paradise for lovers of snorkeling. Uninhabited and charming, Palmarola houses the only restaurant of the island in the “Cala del Francese” (French Bay), reachable only by boat. In 20 minutes you can circumnavigate the whole island and you can find the famous Cathedral in a bay located in the northern part of the island. The “Cattedrale” is a composition made of high cliffs carved
by the waves and sculpted by the wind: it reminds of the majestic Gothic cathedrals. You can end your Capri yacht charter service here or you can continue until you reach Anzio, which is only 2 hours away. You can also cruise back to Naples, the starting point of your Capri yacht charter holiday.
